Battle of Stalingrad (aug 23, 1942 – feb 2, 1943)
Description:
The Battle of Stalingrad was German attack on the Soviet Union on August 23rd 1942 and lasted until February 2nd 1943. Germans attacked in order to take control of Stalingrad in southern Russia. The Germans wanted the city because of its industrial capacity and location near the Volga River which would allow them to cut off trade and military deployment.
