King Jehu's reign (jan 1, 841 BC – jan 1, 814 BC)

Description:

Jehu reigned for 28 years.
At first he was good. He served the Lord, killed a bunch of bad people, and destroyed all the Baals. But then he turned away from God.
"Thus Jehu wiped out Baal from Israel." (2 Kings 10:28)
"But Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He did not turn from the sins of Jeroboam, which he made Israel to sin." (2 Kings 10:31)
a. Jehu demolished the house of Baal and turned it into a latrine.
b. "[I] will cut off from Ahab every male."* Jehu killed all seventy of Ahab's sons. "The dogs shall eat Jezebel within the walls of Jezreel."** Jehu had her thrown out the window and left. When he came back, only a few bones were left.
