Jeroboam I (jan 1, 931 BC – jun 1, 910 BC)

Description:

Jeroboam became king when he met Abijah on the road. Ahijah ripped his robe into twelve pieces and gave ten of them to Jeroboam. He told Jeroboam that he would rule over ten tribes of Israel.
Before Jeroboam was made king Solomon put him in charge of the forced labor of the house of Joseph.
Jeroboam was evil in the sight of the Lord. He worshiped Baals and turned his back on God.

1 kings 11: 28
"Now Jeroboam was a man of standing, and when Solomon saw how well the young man did his work, he put him in charge of the whole labor force of the tribes of Joseph."
