Description:
Amon was the son of Manasseh. He reigned for 2 years.
He was evil because he served other gods, abandoned God, and did not humble himself like his father did.
"And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, as Manasseh his father had done. Amon sacrificed to all the images that Manasseh his father had made, and served them. And he did not humble himself before the Lord, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself, but this Amon incurred guilt more and more." (2 Chronicles 33:22-23)
"He abandoned the Lord, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the Lord." (2 Kings 21:22)
a. Some of Amon's servants plotted against him and killed him. Then the people of the land killed the servants and made Josiah, Amon's son, king.
