King Jotham's reign (jan 1, 750 BC – jan 1, 732 BC)
Description:
Jotham was the son of Uzziah. He reigned for 16 years.
He was good because he served God. But during his reign, the people of Judah still served idols because Jotham did not take away the high places.
"And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that his father Uzziah had done." (2 Kings 15:34)
"So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the Lord his God." (2 Chronicles 27:6)
"But the people still followed corrupt practices." (2 Chronicles 27:2)
a. Jotham built the upper gate of the house of the Lord. He also built much of the wall of Ophel, and cities, forts, and towers.
