Description:
Athaliah was the mother of Ahaziah, the wife of Jehoram, and the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel. She reigned for 7 years.She was evil because she killed all the members of the royal family after her son died. She also encouraged her husband to be evil when he was king.
"Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal family." (2 Kings 11:1)
a. Athaliah destroyed all the royal family, but Jehosheba, the sister of Ahaziah, hid a baby, the son of Ahaziah from Athaliah for seven years. then Athaliah was killed and the seven year old prince, Joash, became king.
