Egypt First Milennium (jan 1, 1000 BC – jan 1, 30 BC)

Description:

The period from 1000 BCE to 30 BCE is referred to as the First Millennium BCE. During this time, Egypt's influence in the ancient world waned after the downfall of the New Kingdom, and the Nile River fell under the authority of foreign powers. These included the Nubian Kushite kings and, later, Alexander the Great and his Greek successors, who took control in 332 BCE. Ultimately, in 30 BCE, Egypt was incorporated as a province of the Roman Empire. Nevertheless, the traditional styles of Egyptian art and architecture persisted, even amidst foreign domination, as evidenced by depictions of the pharaoh as a sphinx.
