Mickey Mouse (jan 1, 1928 – jan 1, 1932)
Description:
Disney Brothers Studio produced a popular series of short films about a character called Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, but the studio lost rights to the character, and the Disney brothers decided to make a new character: Mickey Mouse. The idea for Mickey Mouse was inspired by a mouse called Mortimer that Walt used to feed in the Laugh-O-Gram studio building. The first cartoon starring Mickey was “Steamboat Willie”. This was a huge success. The first colour Mickey Mouse cartoon was released in 1932.
