Focused on agriculture until 300CE.
Mayan calendar, religion, and number system were based on Olmec (1600BCE-350BCE).
Created advanced architecture and pyramid building.
Classic era 250CE-900CE (Golden age)
2-10 million people lived in it. Farming methods like irrigation and terracing were used. Very religious. Progress in astronomy and mathematics. Like using 0 and their calendar was very accurate.

Where: Central America
Why: What was the purpose of the pyramids they made?
Like Egypt, they buried their rulers there. It was also made to honor their gods.
End: A lack of resources, drought, or civil war could have ended it. It is unknown the exact reason.
Timely: Powerful and long lasting empire. Had influence over any country in central America.
Lastly: Created a way to tell time in the Americas. As well as many farming, math, and astronomy advancements.
