The Battle of Bannockburn (jun 23, 1314 – jun 24, 1314)
Description:
The First War of Scottish Independence was won by Robert the Bruce's army over King Edward II of England at the Battle of Bannockburn (Scottish Gaelic: Blàr Allt nam Bànag or Blàr Allt a' Bhonnaich), fought on June 23–24, 1314. Bannockburn is regarded as a pivotal event in Scottish history since it was a crucial turning point in the conflict, which did not legally finish until the Treaty of Edinburgh-Northampton, which de jure restored Scottish independence.
