Description:

The fourth and most current generation of Kpop informally began in 2018 with the debut of groups such as IZ*ONE, (G)I-DLE, LOONA, ATEEZ, and many more.

The generation is defined heavily by an expansion into cryptocurrency, the metaverse, and a further expansion into the western market.

In addition, the concept of "supergroups" were created by SM entertainment, who made both "SuperM" and "GOT the Beat," respective boy and girl groups from the company that consist of the top members and soloists of each.
