Description:

Following the "end" of the 2nd generation, the 3rd generation of K-pop carried off of the industry's semi-successful to moderate success in breaking into the American/Western market.

The beginning of the era was marked by the debut of groups such as EXO, BTS, and others.

The era also houses groups such as: TWICE (트와이스) , Red Velvet (레드벨벳), NCT (엔시티), along with the first Produce 101 groups such as I.O.I (아이오아이) and Wanna One (원너원).
