First generation K-pop (aug 1, 1992 – dec 1, 2002)
Description:
Pioneered by Seo Taiji and Boys (서태지와 아이들) in 1992 (disbanding in 1996), groups within the this period compromised of the first manufactured group H.O.T with their debut 'Candy' (1996), created by SM entertainment after the company's inception in 1995. Others consisted of groups such as; Sechs Kies (1997), S.E.S (1997), and Fin.K.L (1998).
One infamous group of this era was S#arp, one of the first of many to have bullying and assault accusations between members.
