-Refined the Papacy after many years-Re-confirmed celibacy for clergymen
-Reversed the alignment of church and state by making the RCC autonomous (claiming the RCC actually had authority over the state)
-Wrote the "Dictatus Papae"
-Giving the Pope authority over all (both politically and ecclesiastically)
-Claiming the Pope was infallible
