Katherine Goble Johnson (aug 26, 1918 – feb 24, 2020)
Description:
African American mathematician who calculated and analyzed the flight paths of spacecraft during her more than three decades with the U.S. space program. Her work helped send astronauts on the Apollo 11 flight to the Moon in 1969. In 2015, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama.
