Super Resolution Microscopy (jan 1, 1993 – jan 1, 1996)
Description:
By encasing samples in a "swellable polymer" gel that causes them to grow isotopically by nearly five times, a method developed by Ed Boyden of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology enhances imaging resolution. The ability to extract dynamic information from cellular structures has improved thanks to super-resolution imaging, making it possible to track molecular complexes and organelles' shapes or structural dynamics more precisely as well as their movement inside cells.
