Description:
Otherwise called the Salo Republic,
it was only on paper an Italian country headed by Musso,
in reality Musso had no power,
everything had to be approved by the Germans,
the Germans controlled everything and they only cared about protecting Germany
this is the period when Italian Jews were actively persecuted,
~9 K were sent to concentration camps
(in all of Italy there were ~50 K Jews)
an Anti-Fascist partisan movement emerged
the German forces in Italy surrendered on May 2nd 1945, 6 days before the surrender of Germany
