Description:
Intermittent conflict between Irish Nationalists and the English government who controlled Ireland as a Imperialist state. Irish Nationalists took to using violence to attack British government. and the British government issued brutal crackdowns in response.The Good Friday agreement in 1998 ended the Troubles and gave self-government back to Northern Ireland.
The TV show "Derry Girls" takes place during this time.
