Punic Wars (jan 1, 264 BC – jan 1, 146 BC)

Description:

The Punic Wars were a series of three wars fought between the Carthaginians and the Romans. The First Punic War disputed Sicily and sea territory and was won by Rome. The Second Punic War was marked by the initial success of Hannibal from the Alps, but in the end was a Roman victory since Hannibal was defeated at the Battle of Zama. The Third Punic War, also considered The Siege of Carthage, lead to the demise of Carthage as it became a part of Rome.
