(Numremberg Laws)
Police Regulation on the Marking of Jews (sep 1, 1941 – sep 1, 1941)
Description:
All Jews in Nazi Germany were obliged to wear a distinctive yellow badge in public beginning in September 1941. The badge must be a palm-sized, six-pointed yellow star with black lines around the Star of David. The word "Jude" (German for "Jew") must be written in the centre of the star. It must be displayed whenever a Jew is seen in public. Jews, in particular, must sew this yellow star into the left breast of their clothing. This order applies to all German Jews (as defined by the Nuremberg Laws) over the age of six. *Mischlinge Germans* are exempt from wearing the star.
*Mischling was a derogatory legal word used in Nazi Germany to describe people with mixed "Aryan" and non-Aryan origin, such as Jewish, as codified in the Nuremberg racial laws of 1935.*
