Description:
Causes:- Congress had land grants and loans for the first transcontinental railroad from the union to California.
- Two railroad companies worked on it together. The Union Pacific was from Omaha, Nebraska and they built westward across the Great Plains.
- The Central Pacific started from Sacramento, California, and was built eastward and through the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
