The Rwandan Genocide
(Extermination) (apr 4, 1994 – jun 15, 1994)
Description:
The Rwandan Genocide has an estimated amount of 800,00 deaths however, a higher count of 1 million people has also been argued. Majority of these deaths were Tutsi men, women, and children.
Hutus began the mass execution of over 800,000 Tutsi men, women, and children. This execution of hundreds of thousands of people was built upon years of division and hatred between the Hutu and the Tutsi people. They justified these killings as many believed that the Tutsis were going to take control of the country and that they were dangerous enemies.
