Shapur I (jan 1, 240 – jan 1, 270)
Description:
Shapur I is the son of Ardashir I. He ruled alongside his father for several years before becoming sole ruler at his fathers death. He is credited for conquering the area surrounding the Caspian Sea and continuing the war with Rome. At the end of two wars with Rome, Shapur maintained much of the territory of his father and he spent his final years consolidating power within his kingdom.Additional Sources:
