Titus Livius (jan 1, 59 BC – jan 1, 17)

Description:

Also known as Livy, he is known for his authorship of The History of Rome which recounts Rome from its foundation in 753BC until Drusus in 9BC. This work was 142 books. While his history is engaging and includes the first known record of the tale of Romulus and Remus, it is not known for its accuracy or originality. Many his sources are second hand and he was far more focused on creating romantic images than ensuring that every element was correctly represented.
