Vespasian (jan 1, 17 – jan 1, 79)

Description:

Vespasian was a Roman emperor and founder of the Flavian Dynasty. He was not of noble birth, but rather rose in status as a result of his military successes. He rose to power using Messianic fever. He himself didn't ascribe to Christianity, but rather saw Jesus as another God to add to his Roman collection. After Galba's murder, he was proclaimed emperor of Rome. He was responsible for beginning construction on the Colosseum and had lasting impacts on the structure of the Roman army. In Jerusalem, he destroyed the Second Temple and was the emperor during the First Judaean Revolt. His reign is notable for order and prosperity.
