Flavius Josephus (jan 1, 37 – jan 1, 100)

Description:

Josephus is a Jewish priest, scholar and historian who wrote History of the Jewish War which tells the history of the Jewish revolt as he experienced it. It also includes details on Roman tactics and strategy.

In the beginning of the Judean Revolt, Josephus was a general on the Judean side. However, he was defeated and captured. Eventually became a Roman collaborator. By siding with the Romans, he bought himself a comfortable life in Rome following the revolts where he goes on to write about the events.
