Mark Antony (jan 1, 83 BC – jan 1, 30 BC)

Description:

Mark Antony was a Roman general under Julius Caesar. When Julius Caesar was assassinated, Mark Antony fled. Later on Mark Antony became part of the Second Triumvirate alongside Octavian and Lepidus. Mark Antony controlled the Ptolemaic region and ruled in conjunction with Cleopatra. Octavian had intentions to gain power over the entire empire. When Mark Antony attempted to divorce Octavia, Octavian's sister, in order to marry Cleopatra, Octavian used it as reason to kill Mark Antony and complete his consolidation of power.

Mark Antony was written about by Plutarch in his book Parallel Lives.
