World War 2 (sep 1, 1939 – sep 2, 1945)
Description:
Who: Britain, Russia and the USA were on the Allied side and Germany, Italy and Japan formed the Axis powers.What: WW2 was the largest war in human history. It involved countries, colonies and territories around the world.
Where: Nazi Germany invaded Poland. Then Germany invaded Belgium and then France. Germany also attacked Britain and then Hitler invaded Russia. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor which then brought the USA into the war.
When: World war started on September 1st 1939 and ended on September 2 1945. The Allied forces won the war
Why: Italy was promised land when Germany signed The Treaty of Versailles. Since Germany was essentially declared responsible
for WWl it left their country in a pretty bad state. Hitler was also responsible for the Holocaust (where millions of Jews were murdered, raped, and tortured in concentration camps).
