Iron Age (jan 1, 1200 BC – jan 1, 43)
Description:
The Iron Age began with the introduction of iron technology. This technology likely originated in Thailand and spread west, although its superiority to Bronze was not immediately recognized. This age stretches until the rise of the Roman empire which marks the dawn of a new Roman era. Some of the major developments of the era include:
- hierarchy
- complex trade routes
- developments in religion
- advancement of weapon technology to include swords and other armor
- sophistication of fortresses and defenses
