Project Gemini (jan 1, 1961 – jan 1, 1966)
Description:
This was the second human space fight for NASA. The spacecraft Gemini carried a two-astronaut crew. The goal was to develop techniques for the Appolo project. This program was the first to use the newly built Mission Control Center at the Houston Manned Spacecraft Center for flight control. The goal of Gemini was to demonstrate that the Appolo missions can be done. They proved that the mission to the moon and back would take 8 days.
