Croatian war for independence (mar 31, 1991 – nov 12, 1995)
Description:
The Croatian war for independence was an independence movement. It was an effort by the people for Croatia to split from Yugoslavia and its control. The Serbian president with in Yugoslavia wanted Croatia to stay part of Yugoslavia so he could have his idea of a greater Serbia. This led to a war between Croatia and Yugoslavia because Croatia wanted to be its own state independent from Yugoslavia. There was also an ethnic cleansing going on in Croatia by Yugoslavia which forced Croatians to leave their country. The UN stopped Yugoslavia and the war was ended.
