World War I (jan 1, 1911 – jan 1, 1916)
Description:
A dispute on who controls the Moroccan city of Agadir resulted in a full scale war breaking out between the powers of Europe. The Central Powers (Germany, Austria Hungary and Italy) managed to defeat the Entente (Britain, France, Spain and Russia, with the Ottomans later joining in thanks to British meddling). The war was known for its brutal trench warfare and use of chemical weapons and tanks.
