John Broadus (jul 8, 1827 – dec 20, 1895)
Description:
Broadus made most of his impact in the SBC through his teaching at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a professor at Virginia University for a long period of time before moving to work at Southern Seminary. He has affected the way that Southern Baptists pastors preach even today. He was the second ever president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary choosing it over other opportunities he had. He had a largely positive impact on Southern Baptist other than his support of slavery.Added to timeline:
