Pacific Railroad Act (nov 2, 2010 – jul 1, 1862)
Description:
• july 1, 1862 was when the Pacific Railroad Act was established. The act granted land and bonds to railroad companies in order to get the Transcontinental railroad built. Knowing how much of an economic advantage the railroad would bring to the United Stated the government funded as much as they could to getting it built. Being granted 10 miles of land for every mile of track built, would eventually connect eastern cities and western states and towns.
