This was a period of rapid intellectual change. Enlightenment ideas were spread through enlightenment thinkers. These people were also known as philosophers. Ideas spread through literature.The enlightenment changed how people thought about society and the government. Enlightenment thinkers valued logic and reason over the church which scared political leaders. The enlightenment had had four core values, reason, progress, liberty, and natural laws.
