Description:
The Scope Monkey Trial was during the conservative backlashes of the roaring twenties (related to religious fundamentalism) as it was a Teacher in Tennessee (John Scopes) who was brought to court for teaching the theory of evolution. Found guilty of breaking Butler Act which was a Tennessee law that prohibited public schools from teaching evolution. John Scopes found guilty and charged. [However, two years later the ruling was overturned]
