2nd Great Awkening ARC TURNING POINT (jan 1, 1840 – dec 31, 1860)

Description:

ARC: Ideas of reform of society, abolition, temperance and more started to spread and become popular, changing people's ideas.
MIG: People would migrate to where their ideas were more popular. The south would not be a good place for someone who was heavily influenced by the 2nd Great Awakening.

TURNING POINT: The 2nd Great Awakening was the turning point for ARC because before the ideas of the awakening started to spread, people were not so different on their beliefs of society, abolition, and temperence, but after the views up north started to change more and more rapidly, and the tensions between the north and south's views on slavery started to grow more and more.
