Description:
Romans built ports on the Arno and Mugnone Rivers to create advantageous transport positions, forming a controlling wedge, and a bridge was constructed over the Arno in 123. Buildings began to accumulate around the military camp, and the surrounding land was organized. There was a nearby river port to allow trade.
