Description:
The Baroque Period embraced arts that were emotional and exuberant and spoke to the senses. It was sparked by Romans and Catholics and encouraged by the Papacy and Jesuits. Peter Paul Rubens developed rich, sensuous, colorful style of painting with animated figures, melodramatic contrasts, and monumental size. Bach was not fully appreciated in his lifetime but his legacy of emotional and inventive organ and choir music lived on.
