Tobias Hess (jan 1, 1568 – jan 1, 1614)
Description:
A lawyer in the German City of Tübingen. He took up medicine later in life and became inspired by the ideas of Paracelsus. He also made a thorough study of the Bible and held remarkable views on the origin of mankind. He developed an interesting view of human history, which he belived to be divided into three major periods, the era of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. He calculated that the era of the Holy Spirit would be around 1620, and that it would be a Golden Age, with unprecedented spiritual promises and possibilities of mankind. He belived the time was ripe for such spiritual and social revolution, as presaged by the supernova in 1604.
