During the 90's, grunge and pop rock emerged into mainstream music. Major labels attracted bands and artists away from smaller labels. Many of them refused to market certain audiences and continued to make music in thier own way. Rock music began to evolve into other genres such as rap and teen pop. (jan 7, 1990 – dec 31, 1999)
