War of Chiogga (jan 1, 1377 – jan 1, 1381)
Description:
Fourth of four Genoese wars against Venice, caused when Venice bought Tenedos, threatening Genoese access to Black Sea. Venice itself was threatened by capture by the Genoese, and despite being victorious in fighting, the war was financially disastrous and they signed a treaty ceding Cyprus and Treviso, as well as evacuating Tenedos.
