Description:

Fort Sumter was the first battle of the American Civil War. Fort Sumter is a sea fort in Charleston, South Carolina which was owned by the Union. The confederate forces threatened to seize Fort Sumter. President Lincoln sent supplies but confederates fired upon the ships. Due to the lack of supplies the federal commander decides to abandoned by the end of March. The fort remained as symbol of union in result on April 12, 1861, Confederate soldiers fired upon the fort.
