These metal-workers, influenced by the many cultures spread to Carthage through its Mediterranean trade routes. Jewelry created by the metalsmiths were some of Carthage’s biggest exports, with many depicted gods from different pantheons. In this case, two rings have depictions of Gods from different cultures. On the First, a picture of an Egyptian-styled god, and a depiction of a Punic Hermes. This influence from other nations can be attributed to Carthage’s vast maritime trade network, which helped to make its citizens extremely wealthy. This, in turn, led to Carthage creating a vast navy to protect its interest, and would get involved in many naval conflicts with other states.
