Description:

The expressionists were a group of artist that began to focus and depict not objective reality but rather the subjective emotions and responses that objects and events arouse within a person.

It has been said that such a style became most apparent because of the World War aftermath that had people around the world question and come to terms with the outcomes of the war and bloodshed. This direct reply to such events were shown in art and most notably through the emotive expressions displayed in works.
