Three ways cold war policies affected American society were because they began to be more aware of their government, social roles, and technology. Most Americans were against the proxy wars that had taken place in the cold war. Because of this, many people began voting other concerns and dislikes about American society such as gender roles and racism, etc. Not only that but when the government refused to listen to them and when it came out they began being sneaking many citizens began to not be able to blindly follow the government. Not only that but the cold war brought forth many new sorts of technology that either improved life or threatened it, like nuclear weapons.
