World War II: 1940 - 1945 (jan 1, 1929 – jan 1, 2246)

Description:

World War II prompted the U.S Government to make decisions that were considered “war-time necessities.” These major decisions impacted the economic, social, and political identity of the United States.

In World War 1, most Americans believed in being isolationists. In World War 2, containment of communism was prevalent in the US and other capitalist countries. A difference was how in WW1, staying out of war and other countries' foreign policy was favored. But, clearly in WW2, dealing with other countries' foreign policy was dealt with for the sake of "saving the US' future generation from further conflict". Furthermore, a similiarity was how in both wars, the sens of wanting to avoid conflict was made at any cost, especially restricing civil liberties.
