Establishing Colonial Identities (feb 3, 1607 – jan 10, 1754)
Description:
Although Puritans left England as a result of religious persecution, they in turn created a system of theocratic oppression in the New England colonies.
The New England Colonies were dependent on the Ocean. For their government they had royal authority and they were puritans. The Middle Colonies were Catholic and had royal authority as well They were more on the agricultural side. The Southern Colonies economy were based on farming and had a governor unlike the other Colonies.
