Description:
Many of the poems Cullen had written during his time in NYU were the poems that had caused him to be well known within the Harlem Renaissance. Poems such as "Colors", "Copper Sun", and Ballad of the Brown Girl" were written during his time there. Cullen had already gained national fame through his published poems in Bookman, American Mercury, Century, Nation, and many more.
