Impressment (jan 1, 1750 – jan 1, 1780)
Description:
It was an act passed by the British parliament which was a policy where the British could inscript colonists into the navy forcefully. This was in order to supply the demands of the wars that the British were engaging in. It increased the tension between the colonists and the British because it was a policy that affected the colonists with taking a lot of their young men into a low life expencity job with a low chance that they are coming back.
